What is a Botox® treatment like?
Botox® procedures are quick, simple, and minimally invasive, with no anesthesia required. Tiny injections are administered with an ultra-fine needle directly into the area being treated. Discomfort is minimal and brief, and once complete there is usually no discomfort. If you’re like most patients, you’ll return immediately to work or normal activities.
What areas can be treated with Botox®
Botox® treatments can be performed in a number of locations, including between your brows, eye area, and forehead. The effects of Botox® appear within a few days and generally last up to 4 months. Botox® is so simple, it’s very often injected at the same time as other wrinkle fillers such as Restylane®, Juvederm® and Radiesse. These additional fillers, used in conjunction with Botox®, increase the length of time the treatments will last.
What are frown lines?
Frown lines are the set lines between your eyebrows that make you look tired, sad or mad – and older. Botox® is the only non-surgical solution for smoothing your frown lines. A tiny Botox® injection relaxes away deep, persistent lines and wrinkles.
How does Botox® remove wrinkles?
Botox® utilizes a natural, purified protein that is administered at very low doses to reduce the contractions of winkle-causing muscles. Most typically these are the muscles on your forehead and between your eyebrows. As we age we use facial expressions, which make the muscles contract. Over time, these muscles get in the habit of staying contracted forming lines and furrows on your face which can cause you to look perpetually worried or angry.
While the results of Botox® treatments are dramatic, it will not radically change your facial appearance. The muscles are simply relaxed, so you can still frown, smile, or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.

Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?
Our philosophy is to produce a natural result. Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox® Cosmetic will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you “had work done”. The trick is to make sure your muscles don’t get too relaxed so that you retain a natural ability to show emotions through facial movements.

What are the side effects?
The most common side effect is temporary bruising at the injection site. This generally goes away within a couple of days, and can be covered up with makeup. In rare cases the Botox® Cosmetic can travel, causing a droop in an eyelid. The effects are completely temporary.
Is treatment with Botox® Cosmetic painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Most describe the injection sensation as feeling like a bug bite. The treatment is performed in the doctor’s office in a matter of minutes. No specific care is needed after the treatment.
